With all of the hope surrounding the future of commercial space travel, I decided to imagine United Airlines forward; to a time not so far, far away from our present reality. By the year 2030, interstellar travel will be the newest and hottest vacation trend. In order to do so, a complete rebrand as well as a significant name change was in order. Thus came the birth of United Aerospace, the first US based company to offer safe, affordable, friendly travel beyond earth’s atmosphere. In imagining the future of the company’s look, I took inspiration from both hard-edged tech design and futuristic, organic forms. Marrying these two concepts, I created an identity that is both futuristic and contemporary, without slipping into an area full of clichés.
